Let's make Sunday dinner together!  Join our Southern Belle Miss Julia Mitchell on this Sunday afternoon as she walks you step-by-step through biscuits that will "have thier tongues slapping thier brains out", creamy grits and the best flavoured shrimp you'll ever have. Great stories, good company and a real good supper in the end.  

Ingredient List*: (Please have everything measured and ready to go:)

1 medium sized Vidalia onion

½ poblano pepper

3 cloves garlic

1 lemon

2 sprigs parsley

1 green onion

 

1-1 ½ lb. medium-sized raw shrimp, unpeeled (21-25 size)

½ cup chicken broth

½ cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese

4 thick slices bacon

¼ cup + 6 tbsp. unsalted butter + extra butter for biscuits

½ cup chilled shortening or lard

1-cup milk or buttermilk

 

2-¼ cup self-raising flour

¼ cup Madeira

2 cups white coarse-ground grits (look for Bob’s Red Mill)

1 tbsp. flour

¼ tsp. each ground white pepper and ground red pepper

Kosher salt, as needed
